Are you looking for a versatile, reliable and stylish coffee scale for your everyday life? With the Black Mirror Basic 2, Timemore offers a technically sophisticated coffee scale that can be used for both espresso and filter coffee. Fine graduations, flow meters and three preparation modes offer you all the functions you need every day when preparing your filter coffee or espresso.
Two coffee cups can be safely stored on the surface of the Plus 2, which is protected by a silicone pad. So you are well equipped for two cappuccinos, espressos or one filter coffee per morning run. With dimensions of 13 x 15cm, it is not a giant among coffee scales. However, if you want to save weight and space on the go, we recommend the Timemore Black Mirror Nano - espresso scale . Three preparation modes (Regular Mode, Filter Coffee (Pour Over Timing Mode) and Espresso (Espresso Timing Mode) are available and track the extraction time down to the second depending on the preparation method. The flow rate function also allows you to determine the flow rate of the coffee/espresso.

For us, the Timemore Black Mirror Basic 2 coffee scale is a must-have for daily use on a portafilter or for pour-over coffee and, in our opinion, should not be missing from any sensible coffee corner.

Klein und fein, die Waage selbst, aber auch der Shop

Diese Kaffeewaage ist ein sehr wertiges und technisch zuverlässig messendes Amateur-Barista Zubehör, das jeden Morgen hilft, einen guten Brühkaffe, mit unterschiedlichen Kaffeesorten und deren Röstungen kann man schnell die bevorzugte Kaffeestärke 1/10 Gamm genau ermitteln, vorzubereiten.

Es macht Spaß, damit zu experimentieren, und die Bedienung ist wirklich sehr einfach, und die Werte sind kontrastreich und sehr gut ablesbar.

Besonders bereindruckt war ich von der enorm schnellen Auftragsbearbeitung, und dem freundlichen Hinweis, dass die von mir angegebene Lieferadresse mit Versandkosten verbunden ist, die ich vermeiden kann, wenn ich den favorisierten Paketlieferdienst nutzen würde. Das habe ich so noch nicht erlebt, und ich kann BRWT sehr empfehlen.

What is the difference between the Basic 2 and the Basic Plus?

The upgrade of the Timemore Basic Plus, or the fusion of the Basic Plus with the Basic Pro, differs from the previous model in two main ways:
- improved precision in weighing
- increased speed
- Protected USB C charging socket
- Flow rate for perfect pour over results
- 3 measuring modes: Automatic (Pour Over), Manual and Espresso

Does the Basic 2 fit under my portafilter machine?

A big problem, especially with espresso scales, can be the limited space underneath the portafilter of most single-group espresso machines. This is often less than 10cm when the portafilter is clamped in place.
If the space including the portafilter is less than 6-7cm, it will certainly be difficult to place the grinder plus an espresso cup or a larger coffee cup under the portafilter. In this case, we definitely recommend using the Timemore Black Mirror Nano. This is about one cm flatter and also smaller overall.

For which types of coffee preparation is the Basic 2 really suitable?

The Basic 2, like its predecessors, the Basic Plus and the Basic Pro, is basically suitable for all preparation methods. With its 0.1g accuracy, it is absolutely precise enough for milligram-accurate weighing of espresso beans and the resulting brewing result. At the same time, it impresses with its fantastic flow rate for the filter/pour over area, thus ensuring absolute control when preparing fresh filter coffee.
The measuring range from 0.5g to 2Kg is absolutely sufficient for all forms of preparation.
